Davis Michael Ferguson May 2, 1996 - July 12, 2006

On July 12th, 2006 Davis Ferguson's life was cut short at ten years old by a brain tumor located within his brain stem which significantly limited treatment options. 10,000 children across America are diagnosed each year with a brain tumor. Less than 10% of those are diagnosed as inoperable because of the type & location. After two months of radiation therapy followed by 11 months of chemotherapy we thought Davis's tumor was "managed". January 12th 2006 the results of an MRI showed significant growth despite 12 months of stability.

Davis benefited from children before him who endured the rigors of clinical trials helping doctors develop the standard treatment that worked so well for Davis for more than a year. Davis selflessly agreed to participate in a clinical trial. After 3 grueling months of experimental therapy, the tumor began growing again and there were no more clinical options. Davis's determination and untiring spirit touched so many lives and serves to inspire many more. Our goal is to keep Davis’ spirit of determination alive by helping local families who have a child with a terminal illness as well as to help fund research for pediatric tumors, new standard treatments will be able to measure success in terms of years instead of months.
